My Portfolio & Dividend Updates (End Feb 2021)
Monthly update on my Portfolio percentage breakdown and dividends received (if any).
It's the end of the month, so here's my February 2021 portfolio & dividend update. (:
My portfolio listed here consists purely of equities only, and excludes social security (CPF & SRS), debt instrument holdings (i.e. bonds & SSBs etc), emergency funds, as well as personal savings.
As such, any returns from the excluded items above (e.g. dividends from CPFIS/SRS, coupons from bonds and interest from saving accounts etc) will be excluded from the total amount in the 'Dividend Updates' section below as well.
Portfolio Breakdown by Securities
For the month of February, I added a small position on Tesla Inc. (TSLA) and Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth Index Fund ETF (VONG), as well as a tiny position on The Home Deport Inc. (HD).
I also sold the remaining of my DBS Group Holdings Ltd (D05) holdings, as well as approximately half of my SPDR Straits Times Index ETF (ES3).
Moving forward, I am considering to reduce my stake in the local market further, and increasing my overseas exposure. Reason is that I am still young, and I want to go for more growth. The risk would be higher of course, but after due consideration, I think I am comfortable with this arrangement, together with the higher risk that comes with it.
In addition, as a result of this arrangement, my future annual dividends would likely suffer a drop, since most of the overseas growth stocks don't pay dividends well (some doesn't even pay one). But I guess it's fine for me since it's long term capital growth that I am aiming for. :)
Received some dividend payout for the month of February from both my local and overseas stocks.
My total amount of dividends received since the start of 2021 thus now stands at S$795.07, giving me an average dividend amount of S$397.54 monthly from January till February 2021.
Note: Dividends are recognised after ex-dividend (EX) date.
